Colour Correction with Graham West.

How to neutralise unwanted tones in your hair and achieve natural results with Aveda colour specialist, Graham West.

Among the most dramatic transformations we achieve in the salon are the result of colour corrections. A common scenario is that a new client comes to us, unhappy with her hair, having coloured it at home for many years. It’s an easy pattern to fall into and two issues can develop. Brunettes tend to become darker over time until the hair is almost black and looks unnatural, the result of colour build-up. Blondes can turn brassy so that the tone is darker and more orange than desired which is particularly problematic during the summer months.

Colour correction begins with an in-depth consultation to understand the history and assess the hair. Although it can be difficult to hear, our approach is to always give honest advice and outline the steps needed to remedy the issue.

Removing build-up requires deep cleansing which is a bit like peeling back the layers of an onion to see what’s underneath. It may only take one step but it usually involves several stages before we can apply new colour then polish and refine it.

The technical expertise to hand when colouring hair in a salon means we have far more control over the process. We can also personalise the results, achieving rich, multi-tonal colour that looks and feels beautiful.

Lots of our clients visit the salon and ‘interview’ us before we touch their hair. To book your complimentary consultation with Aveda samples please call us on 01386 860 361.
